Gig Harbor Turkey Trot Raises Food, Money for Food Banks

gig harbor turkey trotJustify that extra piece of pie this Thanksgiving by starting your day at the Gig Harbor Turkey Trot 5K/10K Thursday November 28th, 2013 in historic downtown Gig Harbor.

Sponsored by Holmes Chiropractic, Gig Harbor North Rotary, Gig Harbor YMCA, Costco, Route 16 Running, St. Anthony Hospital and Kitsap Bank, the Gig Harbor Turkey Trot raises money and food items for the Peninsula FISH Food Bank and Key Peninsula Lutheran Church Food Bank.  Both organizations helps families around the peninsula region.

Pre-register for the run online, which begins at 8:00am, at Skansie Brothers Park.  Cost is $15 plus two cans of food.  This can be done online by Monday November 25 by clicking here.   T-shirts are ordered separately for $10 (long sleeve cotton) or $15 (short sleeve tech).  Late registration is $30.  T-shirts will not be guaranteed for day of race registration.

Pre-race number pickup is Wednesday, November 27th at St. Anthony Hospital from noon – 6:00 p.m. You can also pick up your bib number the day of the race.  Arrive early.

Both a 5K and 10K will be run.  The route begins at Skansie Brothers Park and goes out Harborview, Vernhardson and then right along the East side of Gig Harbor.
