Clover Park Technical College will recognize the completion of more than 1,018 degrees, certificates and diplomas during the 2013 to 2014 academic year at the 17th Annual CPTC Graduation Ceremony Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome.

The graduating class includes 10 international students from South Korea and China, as well as 215 armed forces veterans and 23 dependents of veterans.

Of this year’s graduates, 920 received their first award from CPTC, while 118 received their second, third or fourth award.

The ceremony’s keynote speaker is John Caulfield, city manager of Lakewood, and Lisa Plair, CPTC Associated Student Government president, is the student speaker.

CPTC’s Student Programs will launch the “Wear it Forward” program at the ceremony, an initiative aimed at gathering used graduation gowns in hopes of paying it forward to future graduates. ASG will match the number of donated gowns this year in hopes of having enough rental gowns for all graduates by 2017.

The graduation ceremony is open to the public.
