The perfect summer outing is coming your way: the crack of a ball hitting a bat, rousing music, amazing food, and mingling with celebrities…what could be better?
While everyone has their fantasy team favorites, it’s safe to say that a dream team is the ultimate partnership. Saturday, June 28 promises all that and more. Rochester’s Lucky Eagle Casino will join forces with the Chehalis Tribe to sponsor a Celebrity Softball Game and Homerun Derby at Lacey’s Dream Team Park. All monies raised will benefit upcoming park additions and expansions.
Before the big event, Lucky Eagle will host a Meet & Greet on Friday, June 27, from 8-10 p.m. During the Meet & Greet, lucky attendees will be able to mingle with such sporting greats as Former MLB pitcher Jeremy Bonderman, members of the Seattle Mist, St Louis Rams wide receiver Austin Pettis, St Louis Rams safety TJ McDonald, and Chicago Bears wide receiver Marquess Wilson. And, last but definitely not least, will be Momma Sunshine Lynch, mother to Seattle hero Marshawn ‘Beast Mode’ Lynch.
Also attending the game will be St Louis Rams center Trumaine Johnson, Seahawks wide receiver Paul Richardson, and Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith, former Seahawks Joseph Tafoya and Ben Obomanu, Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Roy Lewis, former Sea Gal Stephanie Hemphill, Blitz the Seahawk mascot, 2013 Sea Fair Hydroplane champion Jimmy Shane, Jason Mesnick from season 13 of ‘The Bachelor,’ radio personalities Molly Mesnick from 106.1 MIXX FM and Bender from ‘The Bender Nation.’
As if that weren’t enough, the Seahawks staple Blue Thunder will also attend the Meet & Greet to perform rousing game-day music.
Formerly Bucknell Park, Dream Team Park has long hosted both youth and adult teams on behalf of the Lucky Eagle and Chehalis Tribe. Rodney Youckton of the Tribe says, “[It’s] a great opportunity for us to support and be a sponsor to one of their many charity events as they continue to make improvements to the park. Lucky Eagle Casino and Chehalis Tribe feel it is important to give back and be good neighbors to the local communities. It demonstrates to the local communities that we care and want to make a positive difference.”
Lucky Eagle Marketing Manager Lindy Waring says that even though they’ve never worked with these stellar sportsmen before, everyone is really excited for the big day and “looking forward to working with these great athletes.” The Casino will also be sponsoring appetizers for the Meet & Greet festivities. Discounted drinks will also be sold.
