Come to Huntamer Park in Lacey on Saturday, July 7, from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. to enjoy a fun day of barbecue galore, kids activities, live entertainment, outdoor music and delicious food vendors from all over the South Sound at the Lacey Chamber’s South Sound BBQ Festival.

Made possible by top tier sponsor, Fred Meyer, hungry patrons can wander the vendor stalls and delight their senses by samplings delicious food by The Tailgate BBQ, The Old Red Barn, Lucky Eagle Casino, Nisqually Red Wind Casino, Corn Dogs of the World, Ricardo’s Food Truck, Momma’s Way Smokehouse, Roamin’ Stone Wood Fired Pizza and Ben and Jerry’s. Or wander the non-food stalls and chat with experienced professionals from a range of industries, including financial institutions, colleges and universities, doctor and dentist offices, specialty boutiques, media companies, home services and more. Lacey South Sound BBQ Cook Off

The People’s Choice Awards allow festival goers to vote on their favorite food vendor by picking up a Pit Pass at the Chamber Informational Booth. The Pit Pass gives you instructions to meet up to 15 vendors during your experience. Once you complete this activity, you can drop off your Pit Pass to the 94.5 Roxy Radio booth near the main stage to enter to win a prize! In addition to this fun activity, there is a tear-off ballot at the bottom of the Pit Pass for attendees to vote on their favorite festival food vendor. Simply tear off this ballot and drop it into the orange bucket near your favorite food vendor!

Kids can burn off that summertime energy at the Kids’ Zone brought to you by Molina Healthcare, where they can get their faces painted, play in a bouncy house, climb a rock wall or tour fire engines from Lacey Fire District No. 3.

Don’t miss the all-ages chicken wing eating contest, brought to you by America’s Credit Union (ACU) taking place on the main stage at 1:00 p.m. and emceed by 94.5 Roxy Radio host Jerry Farmer. Interested participants must visit the ACU booth to sign up.

Another returning favorite is the live professional barbecue cook-off adjacent to the festival put on by the Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association (PNWBA). At the competition, patrons can sample the pit master’s food by purchasing $2 bite-size sample tickets at any festival informational booth.

Adults can enjoy a fresh, cold beverage in the Chicago Title-sponsored beer and wine garden by heading to The Hub at Lacey next to Ricardo’s, open from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Refreshing beer and tasty wines will be provided by local distributors, including Well 80, Top Rung Brewery, Stottle Winery, Sandstone Distillery and Madsen Family Cellars. Light bar bites will be provided, or for those needing a little more sustenance, visit the Chamber Brat Booth to purchase good old fashioned brats or a Chicago dog.

Various acts will be gracing the festival main stage and in the beer and wine garden, so grab your dancing shoes and enjoy live music from Jake & Tieme, Lemmings, Four Stroke Ride and Exit 88. The South Sound BBQ Festival has free admission and parking, so bring blankets, chairs, the family, and an empty stomach and kick off summer right at this beloved community event.
