Now that the warm weather is behind us, it seems almost out of place to think about “fun in the sun” activities. No more playgrounds, no more beach trips, and worst of all, no more baseball. However, the folks at the Tacoma Rainiers are pleased to remind us that even though the 2018 baseball season is in the books, there’s a brand new season beginning in just a few short months. Better yet, they have a ticket plan fit for the entire family that ensures a healthy dose of baseball all season long.

The ticket plan is called the 2019 We R Family Membership. Originally introduced in 2015, the We R Family package was a huge success for families looking to get in a bunch of baseball over the summer. For just $300, a family of four gets Reserved Seat tickets to every Monday – Thursday game throughout the season.

“We R Family is our greatest value in franchise history,” Rainiers Communications Director Brett Gleason said. “Just $300 for four tickets to 34 games during the season is a steal, and it’s what makes this a perfect ticket plan for all families.”

That’s not all. Along with the four Reserved Seat tickets to 34 games, each person will receive a membership card and access to $10 tickets for the weekend games.

“This deal is great for families or even groups of friends who want to spend their summer with us at Cheney Stadium,” Gleason added.

The popularity of the Rainiers has been steadily growing year after year, according to Rainiers President Aaron Artman.

“As far as baseball, two things,” he says. “First, it’s tough to find a ticket once we hit the summer months, as we saw last season with the entire months of July and August, the park is virtually sold out for every game. So getting a season ticket package, or reserving a hospitality option, guarantees a seat. Second, especially for serious baseball fans, think about early season games. It’s often the only time you get a chance to see a top prospect, as they will get called up by May if they are a true superstar. Look no further than Mike Trout, who started all four games of a four-game home stand against Salt Lake. By May, he was never to be seen again in Triple-A, outside of injury rehab appearances.”

So cheer up, baseball fans, and get in while the getting’s good. April will be here sooner than you know it, and the We R Family membership package is the easiest and most cost-effective way to make sure your family has great seats to all the 2019 action. The folks in the front office at Cheney Stadium are already excited.

“We present an exhilarating product both on and off the field for a great value,” Gleason said.

“It’s hard to not be excited about that,” Artman agreed. “It’s hard to point to a specific thing. I think it’s more a feeling. It’s packed, the weather is perfect, the chatter of the crowd, the smell of fresh cut grass; there’s just nothing like it. Cheney Stadium has soul – more soul than any other stadium I’ve been to – and that is something that is unique to this stadium and this city.”

It already looks like the 2019 season is off to a great start. Artman expects it to be everything fans have come to love about Cheney Stadium, and then adds, “With a few wrinkles. We are gutting our team offices and turning them into a new hospitality/suite/club type space that is going to be a blast. And big crowds, as we continue to set records for season ticket renewals and new business compared to previous Novembers. Those early sales mean there’s a ton of enthusiasm in the market for the franchise, which makes it really fun.”

Baseball is coming, Tacoma. Will you be ready for first pitch?
