From lace and pearls to feathers and glitter, choosing the perfect dress can be more nerve wracking than actually saying “I do.” The expert stylists at New Beginnings Bridal Studio, located in Sunrise Village in Puyallup, vow to make saying yes to the dress the experience you’ve been dreaming about.

Although New Beginnings Bridal Studio has only called Sunrise Village home since September of 2016, it has actually existed as a premier bridal store in Puyallup for over 20 years.

Coming up on eight years of ownership, Daron Snyder and her mother Tina Berry purchased the boutique from the original owners in April of 2011. Co-owner Daron Snyder began her journey with this chic bridal company as an employee of the original owners prior to purchasing the shop. The store was previously titled Lady Margaret’s Bridal and was located several blocks down Meridian at 120th Street E. When Snyder and Berry decided to take over, they changed the name to assist in taking a different route with the store.

There are multiple designers that can be found at New Beginnings Bridal Studio, but the store always tests out new designers to see if they are right for their shop. Designers that they currently carry include: Maggie Sottero, Sottero & Midgley, Rebecca Ingram, Stella York, Martina Liana, Calla Blanche, and L’Amour by Calla Blanche.

Along with a variety of designers, the boutique also carries a wide array of sizes and price ranges to fit every bride’s tastes.

Assistant Manager Isabella Gowland, who recently celebrated three years with the salon, has a passion to make every bride feel the absolute best on their wedding day.

“We all have a picture in our mind [of] what we are going to look like and sometimes we don’t know what’s really out there,” Gowland shares. “Every person is different, and every dress is going to look differently on every person. Once the brides actually try stuff on and see the different shapes, they end up finding one that they feel most comfortable in.”

Customers are more than welcome to come in and browse the racks of gorgeous dresses during most business hours, but both Snyder and Gowland agree that making an appointment to try on dresses is the best experience for the bride.

“All of our consultants are wonderful and they are very sweet and kind. I always hear that there is not a pressure here and it’s a fun experience,” Gowland said. “People aren’t stressed; and they have kind of what you see on TV, that full experience.

Their private one-hour appointment is hosted by a personal consultant who will assist the bride in finding the perfect gown. Each appointment is held in a private suite that can accommodate the bride and up to five guests.

Fittings are taken by appointment, which can be scheduled online, or they can be reserved by calling the studio at 253-841-9455.

Gowland encourages brides to come in to their appointment excited to try new things.

“Majority of brides come in thinking one thing, and they leave with the complete opposite,” Gowland explained. “It’s good to have an open mind when you come to these things.”

There are many styles and types of bridal gowns, but some never go out of style.

“In our store, a type of dress that will never go out of style is the traditional lace fit-and-flare,” Gowland shares. “The elegance and beauty of a lace fitted gown will forever make brides wedding dreams come true.”

Along with traditional styles, each season and each year brings a new trend of dresses. The stylists at New Beginnings Bridal have seen that long trains and veils are really popular among brides this year.

“We have a lot of brides who come in and are in search of the perfect train and detailed back,” Gowland shares. “They are excited to show it off at the ceremony and take beautiful photos afterwards that they get to keep forever. In addition to long trains, long veils have made a huge comeback! Some dresses do not have the train that is desired, so the bride adds a beautiful long veil to add that illusion to the dress”

The studio is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information on all things New Beginnings Bridal, visit their website.
