Does Tacoma have its own museum?

Yes, we do. Join us on April 2 to learn all about it at Tacoma Pierce County Genealogical Society’s meeting with local author and history buff Deb Freedman. Visitors are always welcome.

Deb will present a program highlighting the local history resources available at the Tacoma Historical Society’s new museum. Located at 919 Pacific Avenue in the historic Provident Building, the free museum offers changing exhibits every four months. The new facility includes a research area with city directories, books and photos, and over 500 volumes of bound Tacoma newspapers. Deb serves on the Board of the Tacoma Historical Society and the Heritage League of Pierce County.

Dusty Gorman will talk about the 2015 Rootstech Expo Hall at 6pm. Rootstech is a yearly gathering exploring and explaining the latest technological developments in family history research. There will be a door prize; arrive by 6:00 p.m. to be eligible.

There will be a short break before Deb Freedman’s talk.
