The Thursday night beer run started in January, 2010, with just seven runners. It’s a social run that now exceeds one hundred runners nearly every week of the year. Thousands of people have joined this run from every corner of the region.

The Thursday night run is approximately three miles long. This distance is a night off for some; it’s aspirational for others.

YWCA’s Healthy Love Healthy Heart 5K @ Point Ruston

YWCA Pierce County’s Healthy Love Healthy Heart 5k is a fun way to participate in the community, promote healthy relationships, and fundraise to support YWCA’s lifesaving services for survivors of domestic violence. The course will be along beautiful Point Ruston, giving runners impressive views of the Puget Sound as they make their way to the finish. Sign up as an individual or recruit your friends to form a team.

Live Your Yoga: A Six-Week Series @ Tacoma Nature Center

This 6-week series will introduce and de-mystify the full practice of yoga, with special emphasis on taking yoga off the mat and incorporating it into daily life. Class themes will be inspired by observations from nature, and explore what it means to become a more functional human and to inhabit the body with more ease.

Classes in this series will be formatted with plenty of space for community, curiosity, and clarifying Q & A, with an emphasis on foundational and sustainable postures, breathwork, and meditation.
