A machine is defined as “a combination of parts that transmit forces, motion, and energy to do some desired work.” For November’s Family STEAM Day, we’ll use tons of different materials including gears, motors and even LEGO® bricks to make our very own machines. Your design can be as simple or complex as your imagination (and engineering) will allow!

Sign up for Parents’ Night Out and treat yourself and kids to some fun. While at the Museum your child will play games, explore the playscapes, create works of art, and enjoy pizza and treats! Each Parents’ Night Out includes thematic activities.

The Norpoint Turkey Trot is stuffed with holiday activities and features a 5k run, 2-mile run/walk and a kids dash. Participants are encouraged to enter the costume contest and dress up like turkeys.
Both the 5k and 2 mile routes begin at the Center at Norpoint and wind through the streets of Northeast Tacoma, providing mountain and sound views for participants. Strollers and dogs on leash are welcome.

Students of TMP’s winter intensive camp put together a performance of Annie Jr. in one week! They work hard all day for a week to learn lines, song, dance, and all of it culminates in an exciting production. Annie Jr. tells the tale of Annie, an orphan who is mistreated in the orphanage where she is being raised, and goes on an adventure to find her parents, but what she finds in New York City is nothing like she expected.
