Tacoma Beer Week culminates on August 8 with Brew-Five-Three.

Tacoma Beer Week kicks off on Sunday, August 2 and continues with seven days of festive events at local pubs, taprooms, and breweries, celebrating Tacoma’s craft beer community. Tacoma Beer Week will culminate on Saturday, August 8 with the third annual Brew Five Three: Tacoma’s Beer & Blues Festival, a 21+ block party on Broadway with live music, food trucks, and 35+ Washington State breweries.

Sunday, August 2 at 6:00 p.m. 

The Red Hot

  • Tacoma Beer Week Opening Ceremony (featuring four kegs of Engine House No. 9’s Ferme Agrume Fruit Farmhouse series! The Master of Ceremonies for Tacoma Beer Week will be announced.)

Monday, August 3 at 6:00 p.m. 

Narrows Brewing Company

  • Giant Jenga Tournament!

The Alehouse

  • Beer of Fortune (bewers from Narrows Brewing and Northwest Brewing Co. will play Beer of Fortune, and patrons will win)!

Tuesday, August 4 at 6:00 p.m.

Pacific Brewing & Malting Co.

  • Pin the beer on the brewer! Featuring two one-night-only beer releases.

Edison City Alehouse (formerly Tacoma World Beers)

  • Hollywood Squares: Brewer Edition (featuring Odd Otter, Wingman Brewing, and Tacoma Brewing Co.! Two brewers from each brewery are the celebrities in the Brewer’s Edition of Hollywood Squares).

The Red Hot

  • Ballast Point Brewing night (featuring five styles of Sculpin IPA).

Wednesday, August 5, various times

Harmon Tap Room

  • 6:00 p.m., Randall Night

Parkway Tavern

  • 6:00 p.m., All-Tacoma IPA Invitational Championship. Many IPAs will enter; only one will win. The champion of this blind tasting will receive bragging rights for years to come!

The Copper Door

  • 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Three-Way Event featuring beers from this year’s Three Way Collaboration: Fort George Brewing, Pfriem Family Brewers, and Georgetown Brewing.

Thursday, August 6 at 6:00 p.m.

Wingman Brewers

  • Red X Release, brewed with the pilots of BRAVO 1-214th GSAB who fly Chinook aircraft out of JBLM.

Pint Defiance

  • Outliers Night, a celebration of breweries not quite inside the city limits, featuring 7 Seas Brewing, M.T. Head Brewing, and Rainy Daze Brewing.

Parkway Tavern

  • Battle of the Gorge, it’s Washington vs. Oregon in this head-to-head blind tasting. Featuring Backwoods Brewing (Carson, Washington), Everybody’s Brewing (White Salmon, Washington), Double Mountain Brewing and Pfriem Family Brewers (both of Hood River, Oregon).

Friday, August 7 at 6:00 p.m.

The Copper Door

  • The Match Game, featuring Pacific Brewing & Malting and Powerhouse Pub & Brewery, patrons and brewers will work together in this homage to the popular game show.

Odd Otter Brewing

  • Special IPA release.

Wingman Brewers

  • Sling Load Pils Release, 10 percent of weekend taproom proceeds will be donated to BRAVO 1-214th GSAB’s Family Relations Group at JBLM.

Saturday, August 8, 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

Broadway Center for the Performing Arts — Brew Five Three: Tacoma’s Beer and Blues Festival

  • Brew Five Three is a 21+ block party on Broadway between 9th and 11th featuring 35+ Washington State brewers and cider makers, live blues music, and food trucks. Tacoma Beer Week’s Master of Ceremonies will present a People’s Choice Award to the brewer with the most popular selection during the closing ceremonies.

Brew Five Three is a 21+ event; valid photo ID required for entry; no exceptions. Failure to present proper, valid photo identification (driver’s license or passport) will result in denial of entry without refund. Brew Five Three will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, tents will be constructed and the festival will move under cover. Well-behaved dogs on leash are permitted.

Tickets are $25 through August 1, and are $30 the week of the festival. Full-price tickets include six tasting tokens and a souvenir pint glass. Members of the military may purchase a $25 ticket without expiry.
