Emmy-winning actor and musician Jeff Daniels will tour throughout the Western United States in October and November with special guests The Ben Daniels Band to support his new album, “Days Like These.” Jeff Daniels and The Ben Daniels Band arrive at Tacoma’s historic Pantages Theater to perform in a Veteran’s Day concert on November 11, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now; members of the military with ID receive a 15% discount on tickets.
Daniels has proven that he is not an actor who sings, but an accomplished singer-songwriter whose musical talent does not require the support of his acting. What started out as a “good idea” to raise funds for “The Purple Rose Theatre” (a not-for-profit professional company Jeff founded in his hometown, Chelsea, Michigan) turned into six albums and several U.S. tours performing at venues, opera houses, and performing arts centers throughout the country. He has shared the stage with Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, and Keb Mo’. On his most recent tour, Jeff invited (his son) The Ben Daniels Band, a “life highlight” for the Emmy-winning and Tony-nominated actor.
“The New York Times” reviewed Daniels’ music, stating, “Recalling John Prine, Daniels is a semi-autobiographical yarn spinner in the mode of Mr. Guthrie and the much missed Steve Goodman.”
“In getting ready to go out [summer 2014] with Ben’s band, I didn’t want to do the standard ‘Opener-Headliner’ deal,” stated Daniels. “Instead, I wanted to take what I do on my own, blend it in with what Ben’s band does and come out with a new show. I love writing songs, I love entertaining people, and I love putting on a show. Happy to say, the show just got better.”
