The City of Gig Harbor will be installing a new water bottle filling station and fountain at Eddon Boat Park in honor of long time citizen Pat Kuykendall. Located at 3805 Harborview Drive, Eddon Boat Park offers visitors beach and pedestrian water access, in addition to waterfront views and public art installations. The fountain will be a great addition to the park, benefiting citizens by keeping themselves and their pets hydrated while they’re enjoying the park. The City of Gig Harbor, along with the family and friends of Pat Kuykendall are responsible for coordinating the project.

“This memorial, and particularly it’s beautiful venue, represent so many of the things Pat highly valued in our community; clean water, fun boating and fishing, and especially dogs,” says Dick Kuykendall. A Go Fund Me initiative to honor Dick’s late wife was established earlier this year, and many community members, family and friends have contributed to fund the project that will honor Pat.

Most Dependable Fountains, Inc. is the manufacturer of the outdoor bottle filling station. MDF bottle fillers are known for durability, longevity, and dependability plus they help promote the “going green” movement to reduce plastic bottles in our landfills.

In reference to the donation, Mayor Guernsey says, “This is a reminder of the generosity and pride that citizens have in our community.” The City of Gig Harbor Operations crew will install the fountain by the end of October.
