“We were thrilled to learn Homes First would be a recipient of WSECU’s Giving Tuesday generosity this year,” said Trudy Soucoup, Executive Director of Homes First. “This will go a long way to putting people into healthy and safe homes they can afford.”

WSECU used the date of Giving Tuesday, December 1, as the basis for its contributions of $1,201 to each group. This year, the credit union focused on nonprofits that support clothing banks and housing needs. In total, the credit union distributed $21,618 for Giving Tuesday.

“There is so much focus on gift buying at this time of year,” said Ann Flannigan, WSECU’s Vice President of Public Relations. “There’s no question that can be fun. But it’s also a great feeling to come off the biggest shopping weekend of the year and give to community partners that do such important work to foster shared prosperity.”

WSECU is on pace to have invested at least $450,000 in support for 501c3 organizations in Washington state. Their focus is initiatives that are centered around: education; self-sufficiency; public employees & assets; and entrepreneurship.
