Wanna Cupcake?

Wanna Cupcake? is a one of a kind cupcake shop. Not only are the cupcakes freshly baked daily, but the shop also offers all the delectables of a full bakery with cookies, scones, muffins and more. What makes the shop so unique is the full espresso bar and convenient drive-up window for cupcakes and coffee to go. Wanna Cupcake? opened in June, 2012, after the owners, Jim and Karie Romano, spent two years with a booth at the Puyallup, Tacoma, Lakewood and Steilacoom farmers markets.

Since their days at the markets, they have expanded to be a popular place in town to sit down or drive up for a sweet treat. Wanna Cupcake? offers daily specials like Monday’s caramel macchiato, Thursday’s almond raspberry, and Saturday’s caramel brownie. The most popular item on the menu is the peanut butter cup, which features a chocolate cake, peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache. The extensive menu shows just how much the owners truly take cupcakes to heart. “Cupcakes and cakes are a part of life’s celebrations, and we take great joy in being a part of people’s lives during important times such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and celebrations,” says Jim. Visit the Wanna Cupcake? website and Facebook page to check out their current menu.

Wanna Cupcake? is open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is located at 2102 East Main Street, Suite 112, Puyallup, WA 98372

Celebrity Cake Studio

Celebrity Cake Studio is a chic cake boutique filled with show-worthy cake designs. After owners, Mary Ann and Odette, moved their business from Lacey to Tacoma in 2004, Celebrity Cake Studio became a family name in occasion cakes for the area. Since then, the cake studio has been known for its elegant and jaw-dropping wedding cakes, but the owners’ cupcakes are just as spectacular and available daily. The cupcakes are sophisticated, tasty and like works of art in the case. There are many yummy and unique flavors like salted caramel, blackberry, orange creamsicle and cappuccino mousse. The customer favorite is the pink champagne. The pink champagne-flavored cake is topped with raspberry butter cream and sprinkled with glittery sugar. Each bite is like a glass of the finest pink bubbly. Another unique aspect of Celebrity Cupcakes’ business is their mobile food truck, The Cake Mobile. The Cake Mobile offers an alternative way to enjoy gourmet cupcakes at events and parties. Check out Celebrity Cake Studio’s website and Facebook page for more information on their classy cupcakes.

Visit Celebrity Cake Studio Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by going to 314 E. 26th St. Tacoma, WA 98421

Hello, Cupcake

Last, but most certainly not least, is Hello, Cupcake. The adorable cupcakery was Tacoma’s very first cupcake bakery, opening its doors in 2007. The original owner of Hello, Cupcake sold the business in 2014 to Allix Zemcik, who has been baking-up delectable creations ever since. There are many flavors and varieties for sale daily in the posh cupcake shop, which include pink lemonade, red velvet, cookies and crème, and s’more during the summer months. The star cupcake for summer is the cookie dough cupcake, which features a brown sugar cake with cookie dough inside and a brown sugar butter cream frosting with chocolate chip sprinkles and a little cookie on top – perfection on a plate. Allix says, “My favorite on our current menu is cookie dough, but I’m also really looking forward to our fall menu flavors like pumpkin spice and chocolate peanut butter.” To learn more about the cupcakery, visit the Hello, Cupcake website and Facebook page.

Hello, Cupcake is open Sunday and Monday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The shop can be found downtown Tacoma at 1740 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98402
