Looking for something fun and inspiring to do in the new year? Maybe you already enjoy creating art, or maybe you’ve made a resolution to nurture your creative spirit.

Whatever your current level of artistic confidence, the owners of Dazed and Reused are here to provide a safe and fun space to express yourself. Their cozy shop on Sixth Avenue is quickly gaining a popular following for owners Christopher and Nancy Franklin’s warm spirits and thoughtful workshops. They also offer a “paint and sip” Art Lounge space where you can create to your heart’s content with supplies and clean-up provided. As their motto puts it, “Come make some art…We’ll make you feel good.”

Visiting Dazed and Reused is indeed a fun and stimulating experience. In addition to the Art Lounge, with natural light and paint-swirled tables, you’ll find art from dozens of local Northwest artists, a growing selection of vintage clothing, and their most popular hit – art workshops taught by Nancy and Christopher. If you are curious about why customers keep coming back, check out some of their rave reviews here.

The most exciting new offering at Dazed and Reused? They are launching the Paint Party Club, a subscription-based service where you get access to an exclusive art workshop once a month (not found on their regular class schedule), plus a range of cool VIP benefits. They will be holding four themed art celebration nights throughout the year, complete with special perks. And membership also includes two hours a month in their Art Lounge paint ‘n’ sip space, relaxing while an art barista waits on you. The best part? Depending on the plan you choose, membership is very reasonable – both options are under $25 per month. So you can be a patron of the local arts, have something fun on your calendar each month, and still stay within your budget.

A sneak peek inside a Paint Party Club membership: The first two workshops scheduled are an Illuminated Starry Forest and a 3-D Enchanted Frozen Pond. You leave each workshop with a real, unique, and customized piece of art to keep. Supplies are included and so is clean-up, and as satisfied customers agree, camaraderie and encouragement. The quarterly celebrations will include themes of New Beginnings (January), Mardi Gras (March), Summer Solstice (June), and Harvest (October). So you can plan an artistic event in advance and know that it will be affordable, too.

The Paint Party Club is a terrific idea for a holiday gift, or a standing date night (membership is for adults 18+ only) or friends’ night out event. It would also make a thoughtful gift for someone in your life who deserves a place to come relax and enjoy trying something new, or a treat for yourself as a cherished haven from hectic day-to-day life. With a concession and beverage bar on hand, inspiration lining the walls, and every imaginable supply within reach, it’s hard to imagine not leaving feeling nurtured and inspired.

Owners Christopher and Nancy put in many hours testing and developing every class idea before bringing it to students. “We experiment with everything at our home until we get a result we’re happy with,” says Christopher. It’s important to them that art is accessible and comfortable for all levels, from novice to the seasoned artist, so everyone can feel welcome and satisfied at the Paint Party.

Nancy and Christopher’s approach is based on the idea that everyone has the need for healthy creative expression. There is no right or wrong, no judgment here. Just a genuine desire to share the joy of art. And they want everyone to put their personal touch on their art. Says Nancy of the creative experience, “Art is about the flow…it’s about helping find your creative flair. This is all about helping people through art.”

Dazed and Reused Art Lounge

In addition to the Paint Party Club, Dazed and Reused is offering some inspiring new events. For example, the local romance author Kathy L. Wheeler is now hosting monthly creative writing workshops. They also host the popular Bob Ross comedy painting night.

Christopher and Nancy are always bringing in new artists, from photography to a soap-maker coming soon. You can also find a listing of their regular class offerings, from mandala stones to terrariums to paint pouring, here.

Their Art Lounge space is a great place to unwind. For only $10 per hour, you can paint or even bring in your own project and use all the supplies – a free river rock to paint is included or you can purchase canvases for a modest cost.

Paint Party membership is limited to ensure a quality space, so registering now is a great idea.
