We are looking for people with fresh voices who want to get paid to write about Pierce County! We are looking for upbeat, outgoing individuals – maybe you spend too much time on social media reading about what’s happening in our area. Do you want to be the one creating those stories? We want to hear from you!

Writers have the opportunity to write positive stories about our community in a range of topics. You will be given topics but also can pitch your own ideas.

Must be able to keep to deadlines, be professional when dealing with customers and be accurate with facts.

We Are Looking for Freelance Writers Who

  • Have a fresh voice!
  • Love sharing positive stories about Pierce County.
  • Can interview business owners, artists and other community members.
  • Flexibility to conduct interviews during regular business hours, both in-person and virtually. (Some businesses operate evenings/weekends, so don’t let that stop you from applying).
  • Can take quality photos using their phones during interviews.
  • Have fluent usage of technology – email, word processing, photo editing, internet, Zoom.
  • Want to learn about SEO and apply it to their writing.
  • AP style knowledge or the willingness/ability to learn quickly.

Our stories are published online and distributed via social media. Our community social network connects people who want to learn about great things happening around us.
