This Thanksgiving, Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is calling on the community to come together in an extraordinary act of compassion and care. With over 100,000 Pierce County residents recently losing government food assistance, the need for meals and support has never been greater.

To meet this growing challenge, TRM will host a massive community Thanksgiving dinner at the Tacoma Dome, aiming to serve more than 1,000 individuals and families who are struggling during this season of gratitude.

“We believe no one should go hungry, especially during Thanksgiving,” says Duke Paulson, TRM’s Executive Director. “This is a time for our community to unite and show what hope and care truly look like.”

Many generous community organizations and individuals have already stepped up by donating food and helping cover the costs to feed our hungry neighbors. Their compassion is making a real difference. However, food insecurity and hunger challenges are expected to continue throughout the holiday season, and we need your help to keep meeting this critical need.

TRM is asking for urgent support to make this event and ongoing care possible:

  • Donate Financially: Every dollar helps provide meals and care. Give here.
  • Donate Food: Drop off Thanksgiving staples and other food items at 425 South Tacoma Way (Monday – Sunday, 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.).
  • Donate Items: Cold-weather gear and hygiene essentials can be delivered to our Donation Center at 504 S 30th St (Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
  • Volunteer: Sign up to help prep food, serve meals, and care for guests at the Tacoma Dome Thanksgiving Dinner here.

This is more than a meal—it’s an opportunity to restore hope and dignity for our neighbors in need. Together, we can make Thanksgiving a day of warmth, community, and gratitude.
