Step into summer with a whimsical twist as independently owned Shoestring Circus returns to Puyallup with a fresh, captivating show at a new location filled with hometown charm. From July 3 to 12, audiences can experience Dreamland under the Big Top at McMillin Farm, where dazzling performances, whimsical style and regional connections come together for a one-of-a-kind event in Pierce County. With local ties to the South Sound and a show designed to surprise and delight with comedy, storytelling, music and more, Shoestring Circus is expected to be one of the summer’s most memorable occasions.

Local Roots in Pierce County With Shoestring Circus

With deep roots in Washington, the Puyallup show is like coming home for Shoestring Circus co-owner and writer, Nicole Laumb. Raised in Graham since the age of 6, Laumb also lived in South Hill as a young child.

“I spent a lot of time in Puyallup growing up,” she says. “When I became a circus owner, it was a dream of mine to bring our tent to Pierce County. It is very sweet to see old high school classmates and perform for their kids, the teachers I had in school, and just be back in my home county with what I’ve built as an adult and get to share that.”

Shoestring Circus’ Captivating New Venue at Puyallup’s McMillin Farm

Seek the alluring magic of Dreamland at a new location of McMillin Farm in Puyallup, a place where people gather, celebrate and connect.

Matt Avila, co-owner of McMillin Farm, had the pleasure of experiencing the thrill of Shoestring Circus last year and had to contact the circus to see if they would want to bring the show to the farm.

When the circus came to see the property, they decided it would be an amazing spot for them to perform in 2026. “We chose McMillin Farm for the tent’s visibility and the community’s familiarity with it as an awesome event space!” says Laumb.

“It is very exciting for us and our community to have Shoestring Circus at our small family farm,” says Avila. “We have tons of events this summer and fall. Our little farm has grown in the last couple of years, but we want people to know we are here. We hope our community can stop in and support our small family-run farm and enjoy the events we have this year and also the fun events we have planned in the future.”
