Mr. Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, world record holder for the fastest ascent of Mount Everest, will lecture on his historic climb, and mountaineering career at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 17th, at Eatonville Baptist Church. This event is free and open to the public, and sponsored by the Eatonville Lions Club.
Lhakpa Sherpa summited the world’s tallest peak 15 times in his 12 year career as a Mount Everest guide. During eight years as a Mount Rainier Guide, Mr Sherpa summited nearly 100 times. He holds the world record for fastest ascent from Base Camp to Mt Everest’s summit.
The October 17th presentation is free, but attendees are asked to bring a food or cash donation for the Lhapka Gelu Foundation, and the Eatonville Food Bank.
