Join us at The Evergreen State College Tacoma Camps for an afternoon of reflection, history, and community as we honor the life and legacy of renowned historian Dr. Edward Jones. Presented by Dr. E. Larry Jones, this gathering offers space to remember Dr. Jones’s enduring impact on Black scholarship, political education, and liberation movements.
This program will also lift up the interconnected histories of Black organizing and resistance, featuring recognition of:
Black Panther Party — Bunchy Carter
All African People’s Revolutionary Party — Terrence McCall
Black Prisoners Caucus — Faraji Bhakti
In addition, the event will include an art exhibition featuring works by Melany Bell, bringing visual storytelling into conversation with collective memory and struggle.
Come be in community as we honor the past, reflect on movement legacy, and celebrate the cultural work that carries history forward.
