Washington's Lottery LogoThe Spanaway Wagon Wheel Market recently sold a Washington’s Lottery “Scratch” ticket that resulted in a $50,000 prize payoff.

The winner, who was playing Washington’s Lottery Million Dollar Mega Multiplier “Scratch,” is from Tualatin, OR, but works in the Spanaway area and plays Washington’s Lottery frequently. He claimed his prize at the Washington’s Lottery Olympia Regional Office on May 19.

“I scratched all the numbers, but missed the winning number the first time. I double-checked on the Washington’s Lottery vending machine, and that’s when I about fell over,” he told Washington’s Lottery officials about the moment he realized he had won.

“When you win on a Saturday morning and have to wait until Monday, you have a lot going through your mind. You have a lot of time to think,” he said. The winner also told Lottery officials that during that time, he decided he will donate a portion of his winnings to two charities he and his wife often support: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Operation Smile. Beyond his donations, he also plans to share with his family and purchase a new pick-up truck.
