Have you ever dreamt of being a dancer, envisioning yourself pirouetting, doing the tango or maybe tap-dancing Broadway style? Or maybe you danced as a child and have always wondered what it would be like to dust off your old shoes and get back on the dance floor?

oly orthoIt’s not too late to learn something new or to revisit an old hobby. Whether you’ve never danced before, you’re just a bit rusty, or if you consider yourself an advanced dancer, there are many dance classes in the Tacoma area for adults of all skill levels and backgrounds. With everything from ballet to ballroom, flamenco to tap, these dance studios are the perfect place to go if you’re in the mood to move.

Tacoma City Ballet

If you’re looking to study classical ballet, Tacoma City Ballet is a great option. They offer open ballet classes for adults, beginner through intermediate. Class for beginners is on Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the intermediate class is Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Classes are only $10 for drop-in, with a reduced fee option if you want to get a 10 class card. For more information on the Adult Open Class Program, go here.
