When Martin McElliott, SouthSoundTalk’s community manager, received the call that the community social network was being recognized by the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, he was thrilled.

“We have been building a business in the Tacoma market for the past three years and it’s wonderful to be recognized by the business community for our efforts,” said McElliott.

The Spotlight on Business awards began in 2010. SouthSoundTalk joins the ranks of other local superstars, like Tacoma Musical Playhouse, Heritage Distilling and Commencement Bank in the Small Business category.

The SouthSoundTalk team joined Chamber leaders at an award ceremony on Thursday, June 1, 2017, to accept the award.

“We appreciate the Chamber honoring SouthSoundTalk with this award,” said Chief Publishing Officer, Amy Rowley. “Our team is really happy to be thanked. We have an amazing group of people working with us on a daily basis that love to call Tacoma and Pierce County home.”

“Thanks to the Chamber for this award,” said CEO Dan Jones. “It’s very humbling to receive this Small Business of the Year award.”
