Earlier this year, Crisp Greens opened the doors to their extraordinary salad restaurant, winning the approval of locals with their fresh and healthy fast food options. Born out of a desire to provide nutritious meals for all types of people, lifestyles and palates, Crisp Greens was designed to help make healthy eating on the go easy as well as exciting.

Corie Cameron, owner of Crisp Greens and classically trained chef at New York’s Culinary Institute of America, moved from the Big Apple to the Puget Sound with her husband and two small children. After working as a stay at home mom, Corie decided to begin working as a private chef. Starting off by cooking for friends, Corie went on to work for Josephine, a platform which allows home chefs to reach their local community while supplying meals to nearby neighbors. It wasn’t long before Corie had so many clients requesting her chef services that she decided to rent a commercial kitchen and open her own meal service business, Good Life Everyday.

With more demand for her handcrafted meals on the rise, Corie’s husband who worked as a butcher left his job and came on board to work at her new business full time. But after living in the area for over a year, the two began to miss the variety of salad restaurants that New York had to offer.

“There was nothing fast and healthy here, and we wanted to bring that to the masses,” Corie tells us. “My goal with the private chef company was always to show people, especially families with kids, just how fun, easy and affordable healthy food can be.”

In May 2019, Corie’s vision became a reality when Crisp Greens opened on 6th Avenue in Tacoma, offering not only her highly desired meal prep services, but also a full menu of high quality salads, grain bowls, soups and protein packs available for dining in or taking out.

“We now operate a fully customizable salad or grain bowl aspect, as well as three to five soups a day,” Corie says. “We are really hoping to grow the soup side of it, as it’s so much fun. We get to really use our creativity and have fun coming up with different soups each day.”

Customers who choose to build their own creation start out first by choosing a substantial main base of either salad, grains, or a mix of your favorite grain with salad greens. Next comes the choice sauces and spreads, featuring favorites ranging from tzatziki or hummus, to their popular “crazy feta” infused with jalapenos. Diners can choose up to three sauces from their choice of six different options. From there, guests pick their protein from a variety of proteins, including chicken, steak, meatballs, tofu or roasted seasonal veggies. Deck out your bowl with the toppings of your choice, including a number of flavorful and vibrant vegetables, cheeses and more.

Crisp Greens also features 12 different composed salads with pre-selected ingredients like their braised Chicken Taco Salad, Spicy Greek or Thai Tofu. Soups are available each day and while the variety rotates, favorites flavors have included loaded baked potato and French onion, to roasted carrot ginger and red lentil curry. The entire menu features a number of options available for those with dietary restrictions, including gluten-free and vegan-friendly choices.
