Debbie Barham, who helps Shirley manage The Fairy Store, knows firsthand that this place is special to all who discover it. From the regulars who stop in frequently for gifts or collectors items, to the people who stop in by happenstance, both Debbie and Shirley confirm that this is no ordinary shop, but rather a place that regularly creates meaningful relationships.
“One day mid-morning, Shirley and I were doing our thing packing orders that came in during the evening hours the night before, when we heard the doorbell ring,” Debbie tells us. “A couple of seconds later, a very pleasant older gentleman walks into the store with a smile on his face. He walked right up to Shirley and said, ‘Do you guys gift wrap?’ Shirley responded right away with, ‘Yes, we do offer gift wrapping.’
“The customer, pleased as punch, says, ‘Okay, I will be right back! I need to go grab the gift I bought my son.’ Shirley and I exchanged a sideways glance at each other, as we do offer gift-wrapping, but typically just on items purchased at The Fairy Store,” Debbie laughs. “Hilarious! Shirley proceeded to explain this to the customer when he said, ‘Oh, I see, I only asked because I Googled ‘gift-wrapping service’ and The Fairy Store came up!’ He pulled out his cell phone and showed us what he was referring to, and lo and behold, he was right! Needless to say, we did wrap the golf club that he bought for his son, and while he waited, the man ended up shopping and bought an entire fairy ensemble for his granddaughter. Very nice man and we were happy to help him!”
And that’s just the perfect example of how The Fairy Store goes the extra mile to lend a helping hand or help brighten someone’s day.
Most who order from eFairies.com, don’t realize that just two women in Lakewood, Washington, are running this operation, fulfilling shipments worldwide throughout the week, and paying close attention to detail with each package that they ship.
