Travel Tacoma + Pierce County is betting that three days is all it takes to turn a Pierce County visitor into a fan for life. The company has announced the Mountain City Sea Attraction Pass, a three-day pass that provides discounted access to seven attractions spanning Pierce County’s waterfront, cities and Mount Rainier area. They include history, art, maritime, classic cars and outdoor recreation attractions.

With the purchase of a Mountain City Sea Attraction Pass, visitors pay one price – a 40 percent discount from regular admission – and then have three days from the time of activation to visit as many participating attractions as they like.

Participating attractions include:

  • Fort Nisqually Living History Museum at Point Defiance Park
  • Foss Waterway Seaport Museum
  • LeMay Collections at Marymount
  • Mt. Rainier Gondola at Crystal Mountain
  • Museum of Glass
  • Washington State History Museum
  • Tacoma Art Museum

“When visitors ask us how they should experience this region, we tell them that they’d be missing out if they don’t get at least a taste of the mountain, the city and the sea,” said Dean Burke, President and CEO of Travel Tacoma + Pierce County. “There’s such a unique, diverse landscape here that they won’t find anywhere else. You wouldn’t go into a three-story museum and only take a glance at the first floor. That’s how we feel about seeing our big three: Mountain, City and Sea.

This pass is the answer to that, almost as a to-do list. When it’s done, visitors will have seen Tacoma’s waterfront, our history, the glass art and classic cars that are part of our DNA, and stared at the craggy face of Mount Rainier. When they go home, they might be exhausted, but they won’t be able to help thinking ‘Man, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.’”

As tourism has grown in Pierce County, the demand for a product to showcase the region’s highlights to those on a time or financial budget has grown as well. Now, with more than 3.35 million visitors staying overnight in Pierce County each year, the Mountain City Sea Attraction Pass gives them the encouragement to explore the entire region in both depth and breadth.

Mountain City Sea Attraction Passes for adults (13-64) are $65, children (6-12) are $40 and seniors (65+) are $55, and can be purchased at www.traveltacoma.com/attraction-pass/. Passes are valid for three days once activated, and can be activated up to 90 days from purchase, making them ideal gifts for people who want to give experiences.

Travel Tacoma’s challenging – yet rewarding – recommendation for how to visit all participating attractions within the attraction pass’s three days is at www.traveltacoma.com/tours/itineraries/3-day/your-pass-to-exploration/.
