Dinosaur adventures, Wild West exploring, and a crazy carnival all under one roof?! No, we’re not talking about Disneyland. We’re talking about The Little Gym of Puyallup, where it is once again time to sign up for fun during their 2023 summer camps!
The Little Gym is a Child Development Program Incorporating Gymnastics for Learning and Play
The Little Gym in Puyallup provides activities founded in gymnastics designed to encourage children’s physical, cognitive, and social development. With their proprietary philosophy known as Three-Dimensional Learning, kiddos explore physical activity used as a conduit to nurture the whole child. Through these exercises, children are challenged to develop new physical, emotional, and life skills while playing in a safe setting.
“Our environment is fun, but our purpose is serious,” says owner Tom Watrous, who’s all about getting little ones active to help develop their mobility and physical skills while they’re young so it’s easier to maintain healthy habits when they’re older.
The Little Gym’s 2023 Summer Camps Offer Fun and Flexible Scheduling
Kids participating in this year’s 2023 summer camps can expect to experience all the fun of camp without the summer heat, bug bites, poison ivy, and week-long overnight commitments as they enjoy combining physical activity, games, and arts & crafts in the cool gym.
The Little Gym’s summer camps start June 20 and run through August 25. Camps are available for children ages 3 to 12, starting at $50 per session for non-members and $40 for members, capping at 20 children per session. Camps for the 2023 season will be held on Tuesday and Friday from 1 until 4 p.m. and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Each Summer Camp at The Little Gym Features a Different Weekly Theme
The 2023 summer camps at The Little Gym each feature its own unique theme, with kids taking on new adventures each day of camp.
- June 19 – 23 is fun in the sun with Hawaiian Hideaway! Kiddos will say “aloha!” as each day of this tropical week, they are taken to a different Hawaiian island to play a game of hide and seek. With each new island comes a new special quest and hidden “wonder” to find. Will it be a secret waterfall? Ancient volcano? Or a beach full of sea turtles? Fly to the South Pacific with The Little Gym to find out!
- June 26 – 30 is Shipwrecked: A Pirate Party! During this week, the Super Kids embark on an epic journey with Green Beard, the Pirate’s Galleon. Little pirates set sail to a new island each camp session in search of buried treasure. Ahoy!
- July 3 – 7 is the time for Dinosaur Adventures. Triceratops, velociraptors, and brachiosaurus, oh my! Dinosaurs come to life at The Little Gym as the children go on prehistoric adventures using big-body play, directive activities, and thrilling games. Please note: No camp on July 4.
- July 10 – 14 is when Superheroes Unite! During these camps, Super Kids will UNITE to learn about the duties and importance of superheroes. Kiddos are given quests and challenges as they pretend to be the everyday heroes in the South Sound community, such as firefighters, paramedics, and more.
- July 17 – 21 is a trip to the Wild Wild West. This summer camp is a week of fun, new experiences for the young ones as they take on the Wild West. They’ll be horseback riding, pig lassoing, saloon dancing, and more rootin-tootin activities as they venture into the past for some serious fun and adventure.
- July 24 – 28, get ready for the Crazy Carnival. Camp is crazy for this week’s carnival as kids use the gym’s safe equipment to explore exciting carnival rides and wacky games with their imaginations as festive carnival music plays.
- July 31 – August 4 is for the athletes with Sports of All Sorts. This week kids are invited to wear their favorite sports teams’ shirts as each day, they experience a unique sports adventure with friends that focuses on teamwork and hand-eye coordination. While being coached to increase their strength, speed, and listening skills, The Little Gym elevates their enthusiasm for sports of all sorts and maybe find their new favorite activity!
- August 7 – 11 is fast fun with Racecar Drivers. This camp is perfect for those kiddos who love trucks and trains or dream of speeding across the finish line at top speeds. Each day of this camp features one of these modes of transportation and focuses on fun games and activities that highlight it. Its transportation fascination!
- August 14 – 18 is time for TLG Tumbles & Cheers. Two, four, six, eight, who do we appreciate?! During this week, little ones can tumble, cheer, and dance their way through a week full of The Little Gym spirit. Each day they’ll be introduced to a new cheer venture that includes basic tumbling skills, simple stunts, and sprinkles in a bit of dance, all focused on teamwork.
- August 21 – 25 go Under the Sea. Super Campers embark on several underwater adventures during the last week of 2023 summer camps. They’ll build their skills and have loads of fun under the sea as they embark on a mission to find the Missing Mermaid Palace.
Owner Tom promises that each week will be as much fun as the next as children enjoy being active in these indoor camps full of excitement and adventure. There’s something for every kiddo, so which experience will your little one enjoy?
