Homebuyers are amazed at the number of design choices they have with a new Rob Rice Home. Now the local builder is giving them even more!

Before your Rob Rice Home is built, you can customize the home to your personal tastes. Known as the pre-sale program, it is unlike any other, offering fabulous choices on features like granite or quartz counters, designer backsplash tile, interior and exterior paint colors, luxurious door, window and lighting styles—all included in the price of the home.

No choice could be more important than the look of the cabinets that frame much of the interior of the home. That’s where these exciting, new choices come in.

A Key Choice Affects the Whole Home

“Cabinetry throughout the home, not only in the kitchen, sets the mood and look for the entire home,” noted Dave Irion, Puget Sound regional sales manager for Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, the custom cabinet manufacturer that has been a long-time partner with the South Sound builder. “Rob Rice Homes is making some great changes right now to again upgrade to current trends in design.”

“We couldn’t be more excited,” said Helena Rice who oversees design choices for the local builder. “We now offer five amazing custom cabinet finishes for more choices than ever before, so a buyer’s home will be unique—just the way they like it. We will also now be using rich Beech wood for our cabinets. The choices reflect current, but timeless trends.”

The new cabinet finishes are a stunning palette: Natural, Sea Drift, Graphite, Espresso and Cayenne, some of Canyon Creek’s top-selling stains. All have wowed buyers looking at homes at the newest Rob Rice Community of Steilacoom Ridge in Lacey.

According to the quality cabinet company, the grey tones, Sea Drift and Graphite, are very “of the moment” when it comes to kitchen design trends. Sea Drift is a bit opaque, meaning it hides a bit more of the wood grain. Graphite is a warm gray-brown color, and is darker than Sea Drift. Espresso is a rich, darker finish that has become more and more popular.

The new Beech wood adds even more depth and quality to the cabinets with beautiful grain patterns and some variation in color. Natural stain allows all of those characteristics to show through, while the darker colors of Graphite and Espresso mute those variations (the grain will still show through). Cayenne is a warm brown tone with hints of red, so it really shines on Beech.

It’s a Quality Choice

Canyon Creek has been building cabinets right here in Western Washington since 1981 and has been dedicated to design, value, service and customer satisfaction for nearly 36 years.

The cabinets used in each Rob Rice Home are the local company’s Legend door style from Cornerstone, Canyon Creek’s framed cabinet line. Unlike in some new home construction, these cabinets feature a face frame that is placed over the front of the cabinet box; the doors are then attached to this frame. This creates a strong attachment point for the doors. When the doors and drawers are closed, some of the face frame behind the doors is visible. In a clean, modern kitchen design, it is a nod to traditional styling.

Drawers have the added touch of a quiet, soft close and full-extension guides that allow you to see everything inside. The drawer boxes are dovetail construction, which adds to the stability and strength of the box.

Extras are Hallmarks in Rob Rice Homes

This cabinet company likes working with local builders that have a strong presence in the community they serve. They added, “The fact that Rob Rice Homes has built over 3,000 homes since 1985 is a testament to the quality and attention the team puts into each property. Their floor plans are well thought out, and they provide some of those little extras that really make a house feel warm and inviting.”

Working with Rob Rice Homes for more than 20 years, Dave Irion has an honest perspective of the quality and care of the Best of South Sound Builder.

“Over the years, they’ve changed with the times,” explained Dave. “They are always on top of the trends, looking for improvements and the latest in design. Canyon Creek is a custom cabinet manufacturer. The mere fact that they are using our product has put them at a level higher than most new home builders in their price point. They take care of their customers and build a great home, what better partner would you want?”
