Did you know that teens face more stress than any other age group? However, trying to understand stressed out teens is challenging. Our team is trying to help scientists and schools better understand teens and stress. To do so, we’ve built a prototype of a robot named EMAR (Ecological Momentary Assessment Robot). In this talk, I’ll share why we decided to develop a robot to help understand teen stress and what we’ve learned engaging teens in the design process. We grapple with research questions such as “What does it mean to feel heard?” and “How do we design durable technology – and still stay cute?”
