Metro Parks Tacoma Waterfront Planning Event

Preliminary design plans for the resurrection of a relic of Tacoma’s lumbering heyday on the Old Town waterfront. The spotlight will be on a schematic design for Metro Parks’ Dickman Mill Park, where Cambia Health Solutions, the parent company of Regence BlueShield, has pledged $2.9 million to restore the former lumber mill’s original head saw.

This event also offers an opportunity to learn about and contribute your ideas to plans for Tacoma’s Ruston Way waterfront. Envision Our Waterfront is the name of the year-long, joint effort of Metro Parks Tacoma and the city. It’s focused on the future of the Ruston Way waterfront area. Other Metro Parks Tacoma waterfront projects also will be showcased. Free parking in the vicinity of the Foss Waterway Seaport is limited. The Seaport parking lot offers 15 fee spaces, and parking along Dock Street is free. A pay-for-parking lot is located north of the Seaport building.
