It’s time to dust off the ole Easter basket because Easter is just around the corner and Peter Cottontail is making preparations for his appearance at a park near you. Easter in the South Sound promises to provide vast fields of plentiful green grass, perfect for hiding those brightly-colored, candy-filled eggs. And you won’t have to search far to find an egg hunt, as most communities are hosting their own. Check out the list below to see where you can take the family to celebrate Easter weekend.

Sound Life Church in Tacoma will host Easter Eggstravaganza on March 26 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Easter Eggstravaganza is Sound Life Church’s largest outreach event, as 40,000 plastic eggs filled with candy are distributed on their fields. There will be prize giveaways, inflatables and face painting. Bring a non-perishable food donation to benefit FISH Food Banks. Sound Life Church is looking for volunteers to help stuff eggs and more the day before.

Easter Fun at Bass Pro Shops in Tacoma

The Easter Bunny is coming to Bass Pro Shops for Easter event March 19 through March 27. Beginning Saturday, March 19 through Easter, Bass Pro will provide Easter festivities, including an egg hunt (weekends only with registration from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.), crafts for the kids (weekends 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and March 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.), and a photo with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25. Everyone will receive a free 4×6 download and two packages will be available for purchase.

Sunrise Village Egg Hunt

Head to Sunrise Village in Puyallup on March 26 for a fun-filled egg hunt. The traditional egg hunt is for ages 6 and younger and begins on the grassy area near Qdoba. Kids will get to hunt for eggs in small groups. There will be a scavenger hunt for ages 7 to 12. This age group can claim their first eggs at the booth outside the Ram, which will have the first clue to lead egg hunters to one of the other businesses in the complex. Meet the Easter Bunny and bring your camera for pictures. Pet fluffy bunnies and more at the petting zoo. Partake in face painting and much more. All activities will run from 2:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.

Spring Eggstravaganza in Puyallup

The Puyallup Recreation Center will be in full bloom with the Spring Eggstravaganza on March 26 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Kids ages 3 and younger will be able to visit the bunny farm and enjoy a mini egg hunt. Kids ages 3 to 6 will hunt for eggs at 10:30 a.m. and kids ages 7 to 12 will hunt at 11:00 a.m.

26th Annual Sumner Easter Egg Hunt 

The 26th Annual Sumner Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by East Pierce Firefighters Local 3520, will be held at Sunset Stadium on March 26. Children are allowed on the field in the following age groups: 9:00 a.m.: 1- to 3-year-olds, 10:00 a.m.: 4- to 7-year-olds, and 11:00 a.m.: 8- to 11-year-olds. DuPont’s Annual Bunny Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, March 26 at noon at Dupont’s PowderWorks Park. This is a rain or shine event. Age categories are as follows: Ages 0 to 3: 12:10 p.m.:, ages 4 to 6: 12:20 p.m., ages 7 to 9: 12:30 p.m., ages 10 to 12: 12:40 p.m., ages 10 to 12, teens and adults: 12:50 p.m.

Looking for a unique event? The annual Adult Flashlight Egg Hunt event is sponsored by the Sumner-Bonney Lake Recreation Program and has over 2,000 eggs to find. Join the community of Fircest for their Easter Egg Hunt and Eggstravaganza. Festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 in the community center. The Fife Teen Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt is for ages 11 to 16. This is a unique twist on the traditional Easter egg hunt. Teens are invited to bring a flashlight, a basket and a friend or two for a crazy evening of Easter egg hunting in the dark. There are tons of treats in eggs to be found. Whoever finds the golden egg takes home a grand prize. Registration is $2 and the fun starts at 8:00 p.m.

23rd Annual Easter Egg Hun in Gig Harbor

Gig Harbor’s 23rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on April 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There will be thousands of candy-filled eggs and prizes, including prizes for fun costumes. Ages 0 to 5 will have the egg hunt on the Wild Birds Unlimited yard, while ages 5 to 9 will be at the shop plus Harbor General Store yard.
