Puyallup Police Department Uses Social Media for Cold Case

Submitted by Puyallup Police Department

On Sunday, September 17, 2017, the Puyallup Police Department Facebook and Twitter will become the Facebook and Twitter of Misty Copsey.

Misty was last seen on September 17, 1992. Misty had attended the Puyallup Fair and missed her bus home. Misty has never been seen or heard from since.

This year, the 25th anniversary of her disappearance, the department’s social media will be Misty’s for one day. Misty will speak through the department’s social media in hopes of generating tips for her case.

Using social media in this manner for a cold case has only been done one other time in the United States and once in Canada. Puyallup PD hopes by having the victim speak to the hearts of all who follow her story that day that someone will come forward with the tip to solve this case and hold whomever responsible for her disappearance.

If you have any information, please contact the Puyallup Police Department.
