Humanities Washington: Ripe for the Telling with Julia Harrison @ Harbor History Museum | Gig Harbor | Washington | United States

What is the messy and juicy history of Washington’s produce industry? Who was Cashmere’s Cider King? Anthropologist Julia Harrison will cover how produce entwines with historic events and reflect our changing relationship with the natural world. This talk features a colorful cast of characters, from pioneers, entrepreneurs, orchardists, labor activists, a horticultural prodigy, and Cashmere’s own “Cider King.” Ripe with suspense, sorrow, triumph, heroism and even a dash of romance, this presentation will tell some of the juiciest stories of Washington’s past.

Doors open at 5:30pm. The talk will be followed by a reception featuring complimentary snacks, a cash bar, and entrance to the Museum galleries for the evening. This event is FREE and open to the public, but seats are limited. To reserve your place, please contact Alphild Dick, Marketing & Events Coordinator, at alphildd@harborhistorymuseum.org or 253-858-6722 ext. 5 today.
