Harbor History Museum is thrilled to say “Dobro pozhalovat’ natrag!” (Welcome back!) to the inimitable Rimsky-Korsakov String Quartet.
We can think of no better ensemble to start our 2017 quarterly Third Thursday concerts than with this group. Founded in 1939, the Rimsky Korsakov String Quartet is a celebration of the rich history of classical music in Russia. Current members include Mikhail Bondarev (violin), Ekaterina Belisova (violin), Alexei Popov (viola), and Anton Andreev (cello). These musicians all hail from the venerable St. Petersburg Conservatory, and are masters of the Russian classics: Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, Taneyev, and Stravinsky.
