Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra: Stage & Screen Spectacular @ Tacoma Armory

The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra, the leading professional ragtime orchestra in the United States, transports you in a musical time machine to share the fun and excitement of the early 20th century. Tap your feet to the syncopated stylings of the early 1900s – from tongue-in-cheek vocal numbers to the classics of Scott Joplin and George Gershwin, and even pop favorites by The Beatles and Queen. Watch classic silent films underscored by a live orchestra with music and sound effects!

Under the direction of virtuoso Andrew Greene, they recreate the syncopated stylings of a bygone era – Ragtime, Theater, and Dance music, along with underscoring classic silent films using an immense archive of over 15,000 original orchestral scores.

Tacoma Concert Band Presents “Shout!” @ Pantages Theater

TACOMA CONCERT BAND CLOSES ITS 2022-2023 SEASON WITH “SHOUT!” ON APRIL 15TH.

The award-winning TACOMA CONCERT BAND closes its successful 2022-2023 season with final
concert, “SHOUT!” at Tacoma’s Pantages Theater on Saturday evening, April 15th. Led by TCB’s Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr. Gerard Morris, the performance will highlight repertory that celebrates the human spirit. The program will feature works by Frank Ticheli, Kathryn Salfelder, and Edward Elgar, as well as David Maslanka’s titan Symphony No. 4. The performance will also showcase TCB’s 2022-23 Student Solo Competition Winner, Madeline Zhang, performing Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto for Bassoon in F Major.

Come early for the instrument petting zoo at 1:30 pm!

Mini Maestros is designed especially for children ages 2-8 and their families. Each concert highlights a different family of orchestra instruments with curriculum prepared by Early Childhood Learning experts. Educator and emcee Shay Ryan introduces the instruments and musical concepts while Symphony Tacoma musicians demonstrate by playing songs that get kids singing, dancing, clapping their hands–and learning!
