Free silent film screening , with original score for harp and toy instruments composed and performed by Leslie McMichaels.
Captain January is a 1924 silent film featuring child star Baby Peggy. It was the first screen adaptation of the 1891 children’s book Captain January by Laura E. Richards. Shirley Temple starred in a 1936 version of the popular children’s book.
Lighthouse keeper Jeremiah Judkins has one friend in this world and it’s a young girl known as Captain January (Baby Peggy). He found her as a baby when she washed up from a ship wreckage but five years later he’s afraid he’s going to lose her when her aunt and uncle come looking for her.

Harpist Leslie McMichaels composed a haunting original score for the film, which had its debut at Seattle’s Children’s Film Festival in 2013. McMichaels also composed original cores for the silent versions of” Peter Pan” (1924) in 2007, and for Mary Pickford’s 1917 “A Little Princess” in 2011,

The film is suitable for all ages.
